STUDIO POLICIES
At Best Lesson Ever, we know life can get complicated. We also know that students make the most progress when lessons are consistent.
Our policies are designed to give families flexibility while protecting the weekly time our teachers reserve for each student. Teachers prepare for every lesson and invest in each student’s long-term development.
Please review the policies below. If you have any questions, contact us at info@bestlessonever.com.
Membership Tuition
Tuition is a flat monthly fee. Most months include four or five lessons. Some months include three lessons due to studio closures for major national holidays. Best Lesson Ever is open 46 weeks per year. Please view our studio calendar for scheduled closures.
A $49 registration fee applies to all new students.
Tuition is charged to the payment method on file five days before the first of each month.
A $20 late fee applies to payments received after the 10th of the month.
Membership includes:
A guaranteed weekly time slot
12 performance opportunities per year at no additional cost
Access to all workshops and special events
Access to the Practice Challenge curriculum
Unlimited support between lessons
Members may purchase additional lessons for Open Mic, UIL, or other performance preparation when needed.
Attendance
Students are expected to arrive on time for their weekly lessons.
Arriving late may result in a shorter lesson.
If a lesson begins late because the instructor is running behind, the student will receive their full lesson time.
Missed Lessons
Tuition credits and refunds are not provided for missed lessons.
Please do not text, call, or email your teacher directly to cancel a lesson. Best Lesson Ever must have a record of the cancellation before we can issue a makeup lesson credit.
You may cancel through the online portal or contact the Best Lesson Ever office by text, phone, or email.
Office contact information:
Phone or text: 281-940-4101

A makeup lesson credit will be issued when a lesson is canceled at least 24 hours in advance through the online portal, email, or phone.
Makeup lesson credits:
Each membership may have no more than two pending makeup lesson credits at one time.
Makeup lesson credits are valid for 45 days.
Makeup lessons may be scheduled through the online portal. If you have trouble finding an available time, please contact the Best Lesson Ever staff.
If an instructor cancels or has an emergency, we may provide a substitute teacher. If a suitable substitute is unavailable, the student will receive a makeup lesson.
Teachers may choose to offer makeup lessons on days when the studio is closed for holidays or breaks. Ask your teacher about availability.
Student Withdrawal
You may withdraw from the program by submitting a Student Withdrawal Request Form or emailing info@bestlessonever.com.
We must receive your cancellation by the 15th of the month for it to take effect at the end of that month.
Schedule Changes
We require two weeks’ notice when requesting a new lesson time. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred day and time.
Submit your request at change.bestlessonever.com.
School Holidays and Inclement Weather Cancellations
The studio is closed for the full week of Spring Break, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The studio is closed for one day on Halloween. Please view our calendar for exact dates.
If the studio closes because of inclement weather, families will be notified. Lessons canceled because of inclement weather will receive a lesson credit that does not expire.
Best Lesson Ever does not follow local school districts when determining holiday or inclement-weather closures.
Substitutions
If your instructor is unable to attend a lesson, we may provide a substitute teacher.
If your teacher becomes unavailable for ongoing lessons, we will provide a new teacher with a similar teaching style or give you the opportunity to choose another teacher.
Every-Other-Week Lessons
Students taking lessons every other week will be scheduled near the beginning or end of the teaching day.
Every-other-week students may be asked to adjust their lesson time to accommodate weekly students.
Sick Policy
We want every student and teacher to enjoy lessons in a healthy, safe environment. If a student is sick, please keep them home.
Students with a fever should remain home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
Students experiencing coughing fits, vomiting, diarrhea, or a contagious illness such as the flu, strep throat, COVID-19, or pink eye should remain home.
If a student feels too unwell to enjoy or participate in a lesson, please reschedule.
We can often provide a last-minute FaceTime lesson when a student feels well enough to play but should not attend in person. Otherwise, the lesson must be canceled and may not qualify for a makeup lesson credit.
If you are unsure what to do, contact our administrative team. We are happy to help.
Thank you for helping us protect our students, staff, and families.
Membership Hold Policy
Because our schedule has filled, we can no longer offer membership holds.
Property Damage Policy
Best Lesson Ever provides students with access to musical instruments, electronic devices, furniture, and other equipment. We ask all students and parents to help us protect these resources.
Responsibility for Damage
Parents or guardians are financially responsible for damage caused by their student to Best Lesson Ever property, including musical instruments, electronic devices, furniture, and other equipment.
If a student accidentally damages Best Lesson Ever property during a lesson, the parent or guardian is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement. An invoice detailing the cost will be provided.
High-Tech and Low-Tech Learning Environments
Best Lesson Ever incorporates technology into lessons to improve the student experience. If a parent or guardian does not agree to accept financial responsibility for potential damage, the student will be placed in a low-tech learning environment that excludes high-value equipment and technology.
Preventing Damage
Teachers will guide students in using instruments, equipment, and technology safely and responsibly.
Parents are encouraged to discuss the proper care and handling of instruments and technology with their children.
Injuries
You assume all risk of injury or harm to any child or adult participating in musical activities at Best Lesson Ever. You agree to release, indemnify, defend, and forever discharge Best Lesson Ever and its officers and staff from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event that a child or adult student is injured during or as a result of participating in related musical activities.
Photo and Video Release
Unless you opt out in writing, Best Lesson Ever has permission to photograph or record students and use those photographs or recordings in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials created by Best Lesson Ever.
Best Lesson Ever is also granted permission to copyright those photographs and recordings in its name.
