Before you begin.

Are these guitar lessons really free?

Start with five free lessons and the first checkpoint in both guitar and piano. Later lessons require BLE membership.

Who are these lessons for?

Practice Challenge is designed for kids ages 8–12 who are beginning guitar. A parent or guardian can help with account setup, equipment, and getting started.

Can a complete beginner use these guitar lessons?

Yes. The course starts with string names and tuning, then introduces tablature, chords, and rhythm. You do not need to read music before starting.

Acoustic or electric guitar?

Either works for the beginner course. Start with a guitar that is comfortable to hold and press the strings on. A parent can help check the fit and tune it before practice.

Do I need an account?

You can watch the sample lesson and download its worksheet on this page without an account. Sign up for Practice Challenge to continue through the course and keep track of completed lessons.

Are these live lessons with a teacher?

These are self-paced video lessons. You can pause and replay them as you practice. Private, in-person lessons at Best Lesson Ever HQ are a separate service.
